GOC appoints new Chef D’ Mission

The Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC) has appointed Chris Essilfie as the new Chef D’ Mission for Ghana, for the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland, following the resignation of Ben Nunoo-Mensah.

At an Emergency Committee meeting of the GOC, on Monday, March 17, the meeting decided to settle on the former Vice President of the Ghana Tae-Kwondo Association, according to information gathered by sportscrusaderonline.com.

Essilfie, a Development Planning and Organisational Development Consultant, is expected to be introduced to the members of the main planning committee of the Commonwealth Games as well as other stake holders.

A Business and Financial strategist with extensive experience in managing large-scale change initiatives, the newly appointed Chef D’ Mission is expected to take over from Nunoo-Mensah and steer Ghana’s participation at the event.

His specialties are organizational transformation, process redesign and optimization, strategic planning, financial modelling, financial restructuring and capacity building through training.

He is an accomplished consultant with continued success in driving revenue growth, and increasing operational efficiency levels within multimillion-dollar organizations.

The former Vice President of the GTA is expected to commence work as soon as possible in bid to put the nation’s preparations for the event on track. Nunoo-Mensah tendered his resignation, early last week.
