AshantiGold scored in each half to hand Kumasi Asante Kotoko their third victory of the season when the two sides met in a week 11 Ghana Premier League fixture at the Len Clay Stadium.
Emmanuel Osei and Latif Mohammed were the heroes of the match as their strikes silenced the vociferous Kotoko fans.
Going into the match, Kotoko were enjoying a four-point lead at the summit of the table, but the defeat leaves them just one point ahead of Hearts of Oak, and two ahead of AshGold.
The Porcupine Warriors started the season with an enviable record of six straight wins. But defeats to Bechem United, Heart of Lions, and now, AshGold signal a tough journey as they seek to win a third straight title.
Kotoko will next play city rivals, King Faisal in a mid-week action, while Ashgold travels to Tema to face Inter Allies.
