Accra Lions were held at home after a pulsating 1-1 draw at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium in Legon.

Following a barren first half, both clubs scored within the space of two minutes with Ali Mohammed opening the scoring for the host while Stephen Amankona responded for Berekum Chelsea in the second half.

Accra Lions made their intentions clear early in the game after forward Ezekiel Alladoh connected to a Salman Faris cross before Baba Apiiga's corner nearly resulted in a goal.

The host continued to ask questions from the flanks but it was the visitors who had the best chance of the half after Mezack Afriyie was left one-on-one with goalkeeper David Afful, with the shot-stopper making a great save.

After the break, the host pressed for and just before the hour mark Mohammed rose high to head home from a corner kick from Baba Apiiga.

Just as Accra Lions were about to settle, Amakona controlled a cross from a freekick before controlling the ball and then firing home from inside the box.

In the final minutes of the game, Lawrence Setordjie and Remember Boateng sent in teasing crossing but found no connections.
