Berekum Chelsea host record Ghana Premier League (GPL) champions, Kumasi Asante Kotoko at the Golden City park in one of the top games of match week 2.
The Blues last season heaped misery on the Porcupine Warrriors by defeating them 2-0; a game that saw the Kumasi based club issue a letter requesting then coach David Duncan to step aside until further notice.
Under new head coach, Zdravko Logarusic, Kotoko have started well coming from a goal down to beat nemesis, Liberty Professionals 2-1 at the Baba Yara Sports stadium in the opening week of the 2016/17 season but will on guard as their best result in the last five meetings has been a draw.
Chelsea lost their opening game 1-2 away to new entrants, Tema Youth and will be looking for home comfort to inflict more misery on a side they seem to enjoy facing in league games.
Team News:
Kotoko’s striker, Yakubu Mohammed will lead the attack as he aims to add up to his brace scored against Liberty in match week 1. Berekum Chelsea forward, Evans Obeng became the second player to score on his debut after ex-striker, Emmanuel Clottey; the young forward will aim to weave his way through Kotoko’s 3-5-2 formation.
Kotoko will be without the injured duo, captain Amos Frimpong and midfielder, Obed Owusu who picked up injuries against Liberty and have been ruled out for two and four weeks respectively,
