State broadcaster, GTV Sports+ will be the new broadcaster for the Ghana Premier League for the next five seasons, Oyerepa FM have reported.
This comes after the Ghana Football Association (GFA) failed to extend StarTimes' contract as the official broadcaster of the Ghana Premier League.
The Chinese pay television network secured the right to broadcast the Premier League and the FA Cup in 2020 but following the conclusion of the 2023/24 football season, the contract has been terminated.
However, according to the report, GTV Sports+ will broadcast the Ghana Premier League for the next five seasons after reaching a successful agreement with the Ghana Football Association.
The two parties will now sign a five-year agreement worth $2 million US Dollars, making GTV Sports+ the exclusive Television Rights owner of the Ghana Premier League and the FA Cup.
With GTV Sports+ at the helm, viewers can expect high-quality coverage of the Ghana Premier League, including live matches, highlights, and analysis.
Meanwhile, the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League season will kick off on September 6.
