The Ghana United Supporters Union (GUSU) has sent a congratulatory message to the Black Stars for qualifying for the 2014 World Cup.

PRESS RELEASE
Even as we thank Almighty God for how far He has brought us, we wish to extend our heartfelt thanks and congratulation to President John Mahama and the Hon. Minister of Youth and Sports, Hon. Elvis Afriyie-Ankrah as well as his Deputy, Hon. Joseph Yammin for the personal roles they played on behalf of the country.
We further congratulate the management team led by President Kwesi Nyantakyi and the technical team led by the affable Kwesi Appiah and his assistant, Maxwell Konadu.
We specifically salute Captain Asamoah Gyan and his colleagues for their tactical discipline and mental fortitude both on and outside the field of play. We believe they would exhibit similar character at the world stage in Brazil 2014!
GUSU wishes to re-declare its support for the team, as they prepare for the world cup and prays for wisdom and divine direction for the Minister, management and technical teams and the playing body.
Finally, we congratulate all Ghanaians especially the various supporters unions for the massive support they gave to the Black Stars throughout the qualifying stages.
This is really an exciting period to be a Ghanaian. The Black Stars has made us proud indeed!
For and on behalf of GUSU
