Gabon going all out against Ghana at U-17 Afcon

Gabon coach Pierre Mfoumbi says they will give everything in Wednesday's clash with Ghana at the 2017 Africa Under-17 Cup of Nations.

The hosts are seeking a quick turnaround in fortunes following a humiliating 5-1 opening day defeat to Guinea on Sunday.

"It was hard for us to lose the first match but it can also be a big motivation because the boys have seen that they will need to fight harder in order to make it," Mfoumbi told CafOnline.

"We will field our very best against Ghana on Wednesday.

"Since Sunday, we have been talking like fathers and sons, and the objective was to lift their morale and we have to get ready for this important match against Ghana."

A defeat on Wednesday will end Gabon's dreams of making the last four while a point leaves them with a slim chance of reaching the semis.

"We need to go forward in order to score goals and hopefully the boys will rise to the occasion," Mfoumbi added.

"We will be aggressive and conscious in order to get a good result against Ghana.

"We are determined as a team to do our best."

Gabon are seeking to reach the knockout stage for the first time after failing to make the cut in 2007 and 2013.
