Games-Nothern sector inter-college sports competition takes off

The third annual inter-college sports competition of the Nothern Sector started on Tuesday at St. John Bosco's College, Navrongo. The competition, which involves seven colleges from the Northern, Upper East and Upper West Regions, is to identify competent sportsmen and women for selection and preparation towards the national sports festival. Events to be competed in are, football, volleyball, table tennis and athletics. Alhaji Amidu Sulemana, Upper East Regional Minister, who opened the competition, advised the participants to be of good behaviour and to be respectful to their instructors to make the competition a success. "You must perform your respective events, to the best of your ability and remember that sports, in the contemporary world, is business that deserves hard work like many other endeavours", he added. The participating schools include St John Bosco' Training College, Pusiga Training College, Tumu Training College and Ahmmadiya Training College. The rest are Bagabaga Training College, Tamale Teachers Training College and Bimbilla Training College.
