Former Ghana FA vice-president George Afriyie is among four ex-officials who are lacing their boots to contest for the presidency next year, GHANAsoccernet.com understands.

Dreams FC Executive Chairman Kurt Okraku, Tema Youth president Wilfred Osei Kwaku and lawyer Kweku Eyiah are among those seeking to contest the election for the top job.

An election to elect a new Ghana FA president and Executive Committee members will take place in March 2019 with a host of former officials expected to fight for a position in the new administration.

As it stands, there is no law that bars the former members of the Executive Committee from contesting for a position at the FA.

It appears the old horses will be in the fray to jostle it out for the top job.

FIFA collapsed the Executive Committee of the Ghana Football Association following its decision to appoint a Normalisation Committee for the country on Wednesday.

This means all members of the Executive Committee will vacate their posts while the body to be set up by FIFA and CAF will take charge of the administration of the game in the country.

The Normalisation Committee will run the affairs of the game in Ghana until their mandate expire in March next year when it is expected that elections are held.
