George Afriyie is new Black Stars chairman

The Ghana FA’s Executive Committee has agreed to promote George Afriyie to the position of the Black Stars management committee chairman.

The Liberty Professionals official replaces FA boss, Kwesi Nyantakyi, who is supposed to remain as the Black Stars management committee chairman based on an article in the GFA’s statutes.

Mr. Afriyie previously held the position of Black Satellites management committee chairman in 2012 following the demise of ex-FA Vice President Jordan Anagblah.

Most members of the sports media were in a state of shock as ex-Emergency Committee member, Randy Abbey was handed the role of Black Queens management committee chairman while Tema Youth Sporting director, Wilfred Osei Kwaku Palmer, an Executive Committee member, was also promoted to the position of the Black Satellites management chairman.

Lawyer Kweku will head the Black Starlets, Fred Pappoe chairs the Local Black Stars management committee, M.N.S. Doe will be in charge of the Black Meteors with FA Vice President, Fred Crenstil receiving appointment as Coordinator for the various national teams.
