Former Vice President of the Ghana Football Association George Afriyie is unaware he is being considered to be the next CEO for Asante Kotoko, a close confidante has revealed.

Multiple media reports had suggested that the defeated GFA Presidential candidate is being considered for the top position in the Porcupine Family.

But the man in the middle of the topic is not aware he is being considered for the top spot.

FootballMadeInGhana.com understands that the Liberty Professionals Director who doubles as the owner of Okyeman Planners was startled by the news as no official of the club has spoken to him about the top position.

Reports in Kumasi indicate that George Amoako, current CEO of the club, could be shown the exit by Chairman of the club Dr. Kwame Kyei following recent happenings in the team.

Amoako was hanged with the rope of embarrassment when he was stripped off the voting rights of the club during the just ended GFA Presidential and Executive Council elections.

The action of the club which was precipitated by mistrust has thrown George in an awkward position as he loses respect within the club and beyond each day.

The luck of trust from the Kotoko top hierarchy in George Amoako, and the inability of the club to get to the group stage of the CAF Confederation are forcing him out.

But the reported successor of Amoako, Goerge Afriyie does not look likely to end up in the Red and White family as a close confidant has revealed that he’s unaware and may even not be interested in the running of the club.
