German footballer of Ghanaian descent, Benjamin Paa Kwesi Henrichs, was reminded of his Ghanaian roots as his mother served him a presumably delicious dish of gari and beans, known locally as ‘gobe’.

Henrichs, in a post on his TikTok page, showcased a video of his mother serving him the Ghanaian meal.

At the sight of the plate of food, Benjamin Henrichs started singing the Ghanaian national anthem, with his mother joining in.

Despite his decision to commit to Germany instead of Ghana for his international career, Benjamin Henrichs has consistently displayed his love and affection for Ghana.

In 2023, Benjamin Paa Kwesi Henrichs engaged his then RB Leipzig teammate Dani Olmo in a Ghanaian language, Twi, while celebrating their DFB Pokal triumph on the team bus.

Henrichs, in the video posted on his TikTok page with the caption 'My Ghanaian brother is back', asked Olmo how he is doing in the Ghanaian dialect, and the Spaniard responded correctly in the local parlance.

Henrichs, in a previous video posted on his page, enjoyed Ghanaian jollof with Olmo and Dominik Szoboszlai.

The former Bayer Leverkusen player gave Olmo and Szoboszlai Ghanaian names, Kofi and Kwame, respectively, while they enjoyed the dish.

"So today, we have jollof rice from Ghana. Dani 'Kofi' Olmo, you like it? Dominik 'Kwame' Szoboszlai, you like it?" he said in the video.

Szoboszlai is now with Liverpool, and Dani Olmo has joined Barcelona.
