STEVEN GERRARD could be out of England’s friendly against Ghana on March 29.
Steven Gerrard fears he requires surgery to cure the groin problem that has kept him out of the Europa League tie in Braga tonight.
He will be ruled out of the Wembley friendly with Ghana
Gerrard remained on Merseyside while his team- mates flew to Portugal for the first leg of the last-16 tie and Liverpool boss Kenny Dalglish is anxiously awaiting the outcome of the tests.
Dalglish said: “It is a niggling problem that we will have to find a solution to.
“It is a problem that is minimal, but one that needs to be fixed. If we have some time to get it fixed, then we will get it fixed.”
Gerrard has been blighted by groin problems during his glittering career and suffered this latest injury in the victory over Chelsea on February 6.
He sat out matches during the next three weeks, but, despite managing to play 90 minutes against West Ham and Manchester United, he is still experiencing discomfort.
