Gershon Koffie played 75 minutes to help New England Revolution reach their first US Open Cup final in nine years after beating Chicago Fire 3-1 on Tuesday.

The midfielder managed to maintain his place in the starting line-up and contributed to his side’s 2-1 lead before being replaced by London Woodberry.

New England took the lead in the 16th minute when Kei Kamara converted from the penalty spot after Kelyn Rowe was clipped inside the box.

But Chicago snatched the equalizer through David Accam in the 40th minute.

The Revs responded through Watson in the 42nd minute to regain the upper hand.

New England protected their advantage fairly comfortably after the break, with Bunbury stroking home a low left-footed finish from distance to ice the result.
