Ghana's Reginald Asamoah to officiate at U-17 AFCON in Morocco

Ghanaian referee Reginald Asamoah Collins has been appointed by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) as one of the officials for the 2025 U-17 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.

Asamoah has been one of the top officials in the local scene, having officiated multiple games in the Ghana Premier League, MTN FA Cup, and other competitions.

He is a Class Two referee who is developing and working towards becoming a Class One referee by officiating in leagues and competitions.

He recently participated in the prestigious young referees' course in Ivory Coast.

Asamoah was chosen as one of the best young referees from the West African Football Union (WAFU) Zone B to participate in the continental showpiece.

Other referees who will be handling matches at the tournament include Kabore Vincent from Burkina Faso, Brahamou Sadou Ali from Niger, and Amedome Vicentia from Togo.

The assistant referees consist of Alao Salim from Benin, Sawagadogo Levy from Burkina Faso, Fousienni Aboubakar Ousmane from Niger, and Yekini Nafissatou from Benin.

Meanwhile, the Black Starlets could not qualify for the competition following their poor performances during the qualifiers.

The U-17 AFCON is scheduled for March 30 to April 19, 2025.
