The 17-year-old talented forward delivered an insane overhead kick to give the home-based stars the lead before Hafiz Ibrahim added the second.

Afriyie, on the books of Sunyani-based Thought FC, is already considered one of the most lucrative assets in Ghana's pool of young players.

The talented youngster, tipped for greatness, underlined his goal-scoring instinct with an outrageous overhead kick at the University of Ghana Stadium.

The highly-rated youngster, who turns 18 next month, has already bagged top individual awards, including being crowned Best Player at the 2024 WAFU B U20 Championship, held in Togo. He also scored five goals to win the Golden Boot Award at the sub-regional Championship.

He clinched the Golden Boot Award at the 2023 All Africa Games held in Ghana, where the Black Satellites clinched gold.

A modern-day forward, Jerry Afriyie has shown to be a real genius and talent in the making, displaying power, pace, endurance, and sublime skills to make defenders gasp for breath.

An attacking-minded chap, the youngster is extremely difficult to dispossess of the ball and is touted as the next big thing. He could explode into global stardom with the right management and coordinated development.

Black Galaxies coach Mas-Ud Didi Dramani is believed to be a huge admirer of the talented forward after giving him a chance to impress his team as they prepare for the 2024 CHAN qualifiers against eternal rivals Nigeria next month.

The tie's first leg takes place between December 20-22, 2024, in Ghana, before the return leg comes off between December 27-29, 2024, in Nigeria.

Ghana eliminated Nigeria to secure qualification to the last edition of the CHAN tournament in Algeria after a post-match penalty shootout following a 2-2 aggregate scoreline.

The winner of the two-legged tie will secure their spot in CHAN 2024, to be held in Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania next year.

Ghana and Nigeria have a long-standing rivalry set to be rekindled in what is expected to be a thrilling two-legged affair.
