The Ghana Beach Soccer Association, GBSA will activate the "people, community and culture" development aspect of an ongoing five year development plan in Keta this weekend.
Ten beach soccer clubs from the championship league and another ten from division one across the country will converge at the Aborigines Beach resort in Keta for 15 weeks of the national league.
According to Reuben Dzidodo C.E.O of Keta Sunset, the Hogbetsotso, a festival celebrated by the chiefs and people of the Anlo traditional area, offers the perfect platform to showcase beach soccer as more than just a sport.
"We are proud to be the first hosts of this development project crafted by the GBSA especially as double champions of the league which makes it more special".
Ghana is ranked number 10 in Africa and credited as the only country on the continent with two beach soccer leagues running simultaneously.
The ongoing beach soccer tourney is sponsored by Voltic and Cal Bank.
The GBSA will roll out the event and match for Saturday later in the week.
