Accra, Nov. 2, GNA - The Ghana Cycling Association (GCA) will participate in the 10th edition of the Africa Continental Cycling Championship in Rwanda, this year.
The competition which is scheduled for November 9-14, will see Ghana competing for honours with 14 other African countries. Ghana's delegation which is made up of four cyclists and an official will aims at making an impressing at the championship. The participation of Ghana in the competition has been boosted with a sponsorship package from Promasidor Ghana Limited. The company, producers of Cowbell Milk, on Monday presented a sponsorship package of GH 8,366.50, which includes return tickets for the team.
At a presentation ceremony in Accra on Tuesday, Mr Festus Tettey, Sales and Marketing Manager of Promasidor was full of assurance for the team and pledged their full support for the national team. Mr Tettey reiterated the commitment of Promasidor to further help revive cycling in the sport, adding the company's gesture was just the beginning of good things to come towards development of cycling in the country.
Erasmus Adorkor, Chief Sports Development Officer (CSDO) of the National Sports Council, expressed his deep appreciation for Promasidor for coming to the aid of cycling team, the Black Bikers. Aminu Mohammed, Captain of the Black Bikers, described the package as timely, adding that it has saved the GCA from being kicked out of the International Cycling Union (UCI) and other future competitions. Ghana's team is made up of Samuel Amin, Nuru Pardie, Aminu Mohammed and Henry Tettey Djangmah with Shaaban Mohammed as the technical director.
