Accra (Greater Accra), 13 Jan., Ghana collected all the championship trophies in the third leg International Tennis Federation (ITF) juniors under - 18 Africa Circuit Tournament which ended at the Accra lawn Tennis Club courts today. She won the singles and doubles trophies in both the boys and girls' divisions in the five-day tournament which attracted 14 African countries. Courage Anyidoho set Ghana on the Winning trail when he beat Nigeria's Igbanovia Jonathan 4- 6-2 6-4 for the boys singles gold medal while the pair of Fumi Brothers, Sam and John won the doubles' gold by beating Nigeria's Igbanovia Jonathan/Patrick Hamilton 7-6 3-6 7-6. In the girls division, Alima Mohammed lifted the singles' gold by beating Lillie Nzudie of Nigeria 6-4 6-2 while Nigeria's pair of Lilliue Nzudie/Osedume Patricia lost 1-6 2-6 to the Ghanaian pair of Alima Mohammed/Shelly Ogoe in the doubles. Col. George Brock, acting chief executive of the National Sports Council (NSC) praised the role the ITF is playing to enhance the development and promotion of tennis in the country. He said the NSC would do everything possible to ensure the development of the game to the highest level. Dr.. Dave Manley, ITF development manager said countries participating in the tournament would in future be increased.
