The Ghana Football Association Executive Committee will meet the Premier League Board next week to decide on a new date for the commencement of the new season.
The emergency meeting is expected to assess the possibility of finishing the 2017/2018 season before the start of the FIFA World Cup finals in June.
''But whatever the situation may be, the league is expected to start in the second month of next year but the PLB would be meeting with the FA next week to submit its proposal,'' an unnamed source told the Daily Graphic.
''The PLB will present three different dates to the FA for them to select one and, whichever date the FA picks, would be when the league would start.''
Last season ended on 22 October with Aduana Stars winning the title.
Majority of the clubs have regrouped for pre-season as they look to the next campaign.
