Sixteen Ghanaians are taking part in the Confederation Of Africa Tennis tournament currently underway in Accra. This is by far the heaviest representation of Ghanaians in any international Tennis tournament this year.
One hundred and fourteen players of African decent are partaking in the $4000 prize money tournament. The Confederation of African Tennis tournaments act as breeding grounds for Africa’s future Tennis Stars. The competition will be hosted by Lome, Togo after September 17.
Meanwhile, Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD) has donated a $1,000 towards the organisation of the tournament. The players are drawn from Nigeria, Togo, South Africa, Botswana, Cote d’Ivoire among others.
