Ghana Kits Held Up In Ports Due To Tax Payment

The Ghana FA requires a combined amount of 150,000 Ghana cedis to clear a consignment of Puma jerseys for the various national teams.

The shocking revelation follows Wednesday’s presentation of the national budget where some tax reliefs were given to various co-operate bodies aiding national development in diverse ways.

Several institutions with vest interests in sports are to have most of their imported equipment come in void of tax payments, according to next year’s budget presented to parliament.

However such reliefs according to GHANAsoccernet.com investigations are not accorded the Ghana FA who have since being paying for their imported goods for the national teams.

Items held up at the ports is believed to include the newly designed Puma kits for the Black Stars ahead of the 2012 Nations Cup in Gabon and Equatorial Guinea
