Dauda Mohammed scored twice as Asante Kotoko recorded a comprehensive 3-0 victory over Ebusua Dwarfs in the Ghana Premier League on Sunday.
The Porcupines made the derby win over Hearts of Oak count as they made light work of seemingly tricky task at the Baba Yara stadium.
Striker prodigy Dauda Mohammed bagged a brace in between Frank Sarfo Gyamfi's clinical finish to send Kotoko to fifth on the table.
Kotoko made a promising start but were unable to break the defence of Dwarfs until the 29th minute, when a fantastic combination between Dauda Mohammed and Elvis Nyarko was finished off brilliantly by the former to give Kotoko the lead.
Before Sarfo Gyamfi fetched the second goal in the dying embers of the first half. The former Maritzburg right winger capitalised on defensive mix-up and placed the ball through the legs of hapless Dwarfs goalkeeper, Andoh.
Dwarfs had a chance to pull a goal back in the 73rd minute but Hearts of Oak striker and Dwarfs' latest signing Gilbert Fiamenyo failed on his promise to score against Kotoko as he squandered a penalty.
Eight minutes later, Dauda Mohammed benefited from a supply from Ahmed Adams to make it 3-0 for Michael Osei's men.
The win sees Kotoko record their second successive victory in the Ghana premier league for the first time this season.
