Medeama were ruthless in Wednesday's Ghana Premier League matchday 14 action as they beat Wa All Stars to consolidate their spot at the top of the table.

Tied on points with Dreams FC ahead of the matchday, the Yellow and Mauves have now opened a two-point lead following a 4-1 home triumph over the Northern Blues. Kwasi Donsu and Kwame Boateng each netted twice to ensure the win, the visitors' lone strike coming from Richard Arthur.

Dreams, meanwhile, have lost the second spot to Ashanti Gold, who registered a 1-0 victory in their clash at the Len Clay Stadium. Shafiu Mumuni's goal was the separating factor.

In Sogakope, seventh-placed Wafa and fourth-positioned Karela United played out a 1-1 draw, as Nuhu Musah and William Opoku Mensah cancelled out each other.

The score was not different at Dansoman where hosts Liberty Professionals and Asante Kotoko settled for a 1-1 stalemate. Former Porcupine Warrior, Edwin Tuffour Frimpong, converted a spot-kick to put the Scientific Soccer Lads ahead before Amos Frimpong restored parity - also from a penalty. As Liberty sit 13th on the log, Kotoko hold the fifth position.

At the Nduom Sports Stadium, eighth-spotted Elmina Sharks were held to a 2-2 draw by fourteenth-placed Ebusua Dwarfs. Yakubu Mohammed scored twice for Sharks while Amos Kofi Nkrumah also registered a double for the Crabs.

Berekum Chelsea, meanwhile, could not make it two wins in a row as they fell 2-0 away to Eleven Wonders. Benjamin Owusu and Abdul Fatawu Safiu were on the score sheet. Wonders are 11th on the table, one spot above the Blues.

The action continues on Thursday when Inter Allies, sixth on the log, lock horns with eleventh-placed Hearts of Oak at Tema.

Defending champions Aduana Stars must beat Bechem United in the second match of Thursday to stand a chance of moving from the 15th position. The Hunters, meanwhile, are 12th on the log.
