Hearts of Oak defeated their sworn-rivals Asante Kotoko 1-0 at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in week 10 of the Ghana Premier League.

WAFA returned to their ruthless best and thrashed Dreams FC 5:0 at their Sogakope fortress, while ten man Ashantigold battled defiantly but eventually succumbed to Medeama.

WAFA have been inconsistent in recent fixtures, but Saturday’s win against second-placed Dreams was emphatic.

Justice Amate and Richard Danso scored to give WAFA a 2:0 first half lead, and a second half brace by Charles Boateng and a late goal by Augustine Boakye condemned Dreams to their worst Premier League result.

In Tarkwa, Ten-man Ashantigold put up a spirited fight, but they eventually succumbed in injury time, losing 2:1 to Medeama.

Ashantigold went down early in the game to Justice Blay’s 16th minute goal for Medeama, but the Miners fought back and equalized through Richard Djodi in the 29th minute. Ashgold however encountered a setback when Star man Shafiu Mumuni was sent off in the 40th minute. The ten-man Ashagold battled defiantly and appeared to be heading back to Obuasi with a point. But deep in injury time in the 93rd minute, Medeama was awarded a penalty, which Akwasi Donsu converted to condemn Ashantigold to a painful defeat.

In Tema, Inter Allies continued their impressive home form by defeating Ebusua Dwarfs 2:0. Victorien Adje Adebayor opened the scoring for Inter Allies on the stroke of half time to register his 4th goal of the season, and George Amonoo sealed the victory with the second goal in the 90th minute.

Bechem United handed Karela a 1:0 defeat in Bechem with Daniel Egyin scoring the only goal of the match very early in the game. He converted a 5th minute penalty, which turned out to be the match winner.

At the Nduom Stadium in Elmina, Richard Mpong was the hero of the day as Elmina Sharks beat Eleven Wonders by a lone goal, while Liberty Professionals were held 1:1 by Wa All Stars

It was a dramatic match in Dansoman, which Liberty appeared to be winning on different moments of the game. On the stroke of half time, Frederick Ansah failed to give Liberty the lead when he missed a penalty. With five minutes to the end of the game, Liberty were awarded their second penalty of the afternoon, and this time, Francis Owusu converted to give the home side the lead, which appeared to be the match winner. However, the goal only lasted two minutes as Jefferey Degorl hit back with the equalizer for the visitors.

Both sides remain at the bottom of the table.
