Ebusua Dwarfs midfielder Joe Tagoe has courted national attention by labelling the Ghana Premier League as a shit league in a Facebook comment.

The former Hearts of Oak and Great Olympics midfielder’s claim sharply contradicts that of the Ghana FA President Kwesi Nyantakyi.

The comments come as yet another blow to the dangling reputation of the Ghana Premier League.

The CAF First Vice President has stated the Ghana Premier League is among the best on the continent.

Tagoe, 32, is capped more than once by Ghana and joined Dwarfs before the start of the season.

In a comment on a Facebook post by Goal Ghana journalist Evans Gyamera-Antwi the midfielder tagged the league as a shit league which gives you no happiness when playing in it.

“Ghana premier league is shit. You don’t feel good by playing it,” he commented.

The Ghana Premier League has travelled four seasons without a headline sponsor with almost all the 16 clubs playing in the league scoring below average mark on player remuneration, welfare, infrastructure and logistics and quality of play and players sinking.

No Ghanaian club has reached the final of any of the CAF interclub competitions in the last fourteen years.
