Ghana Taekwondo has good future, Quarshie

The Ghana Taekwondo Association (GTA) has stated that the sport has a good future and that the Association is putting in measures to ensure that Ghana attains international heights.
President of the Association, Annor Quarshie said in an interview that his outfit has done enough to popularize the sport in Ghana since the current executive took charge.
He said although some critics are mounting some negative propaganda against the body, they will not relent in their efforts to come through with their plans.
The performance of Team Ghana at the just ended All Africa Games (AAG) he added was satisfactory in the wake of the bad conditions they had to endure in Maputo, Mozambique.
Ghana returned with a bronze medal from the AAG and this is an achievement Mr. Quarshie said would be built upon.

“The exposure the athletes got, would take them places”, he assured, promising that the Association is in line to rolling in a programme that would ensure that many talents are spotted and groomed into top internationals nationwide.
This will include the training of referees and instructors plus coaches who would be supported to work in the regions with the aim of unearthing talents as future prospects.

Activities for the year will come to a head in December when an open tournament would be held in Accra to climax the season and go into the new one in Great Spirit.
