The Ghana Triathlon Federation (GTF) is set to launch its second major competition this year dubbed “The Kempinski Race Series,’ sponsored by Kempinski Hotel Gold Coast City on 15th November at the University of Ghana, Legon.
The sponsorship brings together one of the biggest names in the hospitality business worldwide and one of the fastest growing sports in the world.
This follows in the heels of the successful introduction of Kempinski Hotel Gold Coast City into the Ghanaian hospitality industry recently.
The Kempinski Race Series will see athletes swim 600m, bike 18.9km and run 5.6km. The route will take participants from the Legon Swimming Pool through to some principal streets and to the finish line close to the swimming pool.
With less than a week to end registration for the one-day event, there are few spaces available for participants to complete an online registration form and check out the race guide on: http://www.ghanatriathlon.org/GTFSS150315.html, with a few places still available. The President of the Ghana Triathlon Federation, Bawah Fuseini said, “The GTF is very grateful for the sponsorship from Kempinski Hotel Gold Coast City which will enable us to continue with our developmental programme especially at a time when funding for sports in Ghana has been a major problem.
“The competition is meant to popularise and promote triathlon in the country after the successful introduction of the sport, on the sporting calendar in early March when the first competition was held in Accra.”
“I will also want to thank the University of Ghana, Legon especially the Sports Directorate for the immense help they have provided us since we started. We will still continue to collaborate with them and other stakeholders in the development of the sport.
Kempinski Management expresses how excited they are to be able to partner with GTF in organising this extraordinary event by this statement. “It is with utmost pleasure that we partner with GTF in this event. As a company we are committed to promoting health and wellness through Sports and look forward to many more fruitful partnerships”
