Sporting Lisbon's Kwame Ayew makes a triumphant return to the fold of the Black Stars after his last appearance for the team in January this year. Ayew last featured for the national team in a Nations Cup qualifier against Mozambique at the Accra Sports Stadium in January. He is one of 19 players who have been invited by coach Giuseppe Dossena to prepare for an international friendly against the Pharoahs of Egypt in Cairo on November 12.
The list includes Richard Kingston, James Nanor, Samuel Osei Kuffour, Sam Johnson, Mohammed Gargo and Charistian Atta Gyan.
Others are Stephen Baidoo, Eben Dugbartey, C.K. Akunnor, Alex Nyarko, Otto Addo, Dan Addo and Yaw Preko.
The rest are Augustine Ahinful, Felix Aboagye, Arthur Moses, Mark Edusei and Emmanuel Osei Kuffour of Accra Hearts of Oak. The match against Egypt forms part of a number of friendlies arranged for the Black Stars to prepare them for CAN 2000 which Ghana and Nigeria are co-hosting. The Stars will also play their Portuguese counterparts in Lisbon on December 3, to be followed by another match against Tunisia in Tunis on December 5.
They are also expected to take part in a four-nation tournament to be hosted by Libya, beginning December 20. The team will next take on the South African and Uruguayan national teams before hosting the Pharoahs in a return encounter in early January.
