Ghana Wins AHF Seat

The chairman of the Ghana Hockey Association, Oko Nikoi Dzane was on Saturday elected second vice-president of the African Hockey Federation.

Mr Dzane was elected unopposed at the Federation's annual congress following the decision by his opponents,R.S Baines of the Kenya Hockey Union, T.Popoola of the Nigeria Hockey Federation and S. Jaspan of the South African Hockey Association to withdraw from the contest.

They all reasoned that they wanted continuity. But most important was the realisation of the capabilities and achievements of the Ghanaian.

Meanwhile, Ghana has appealed against an AHFruling which banned Trustees' goalkeeper Adolf Adjeifrom all forms of competitions for a period of two years for gross misconduct during last year's event in Accra. The appeal if upheld will enable the Ghanaian to compete in the All Africa Games inNigeria.
