Ghana Wins Best African Team at 25th Tour Du Faso

SUMMARY REPORT ON TEAM GHANA STAGE 2 AND 3 OF THE 25TH INTERNATIONAL TOUR DU FASO

STAGE 2 YAKO-ZINAIRE Ghana Wins Best African Team Ghana’s powerhouse Nuru Pardie Alhassan in his maiden outing in the Tour Du Faso, won Ghana the ECOBANK Meilleur Equipe Africaine (Best African Team) Jersey in a spectacular refined finished time of 3hrs:36mins:51secs over a distance of 141.5Km with an average speed of 42Km/hr. The Accra based Velo Stars sprinter placed an incredible 9th position out of 90 cyclists who participated in the race.

The Ghanaians who are participating for the first time against crack countries like France, Holland,Germany and Burkina Faso were not intimated at all by the presence of gems like Rasmane Oudrago Bikienga Salfo and Nikiema Abdoule Aziz of Burkina Faso; Lagab Azzadine Madani Abdelmalek of Algeria; Gohier Florent and Dupe Bastien of France; Stock Oliver and Keunecke Karsten of Germany . Ghana hopped from the previous 12th position to an amazing 6th position in the Team Classification for the stage courtesy the exploits of Nuru Pardie.

STAGE 3 LINONGHIN - TENKODOGO Ghana enters Money Zone Team Ghana jumped into the money zone with yet another spectacular performance over a stretched distance of 156.5Km despite series of punctures on the road. Die Hard’s Henry Tetteh Djangmah came 12th with Tamale based Pacesetter’s roller Aminu Mohammed coming 28th out of 86 cyclists in the Individual time classification.

The cyclists increased their average speed rate to 45Km/hr.
