Ghana’s Black Stars have qualified for the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations after winning 3-1 against Togo in the AFCON qualifier played at the Tamale sports stadium in Ghana.
Ghana, leaders in Group E needed a draw to qualify for next year's tournament in Equatorial Guinea, but put up an impressive showing against a strong Togo side to win convincingly.
The Black Stars went into the game with key players Kwadwo Asamoah, Asamoah Gyan and Dede Ayew all not fit to play.
The Black Stars after losing to Uganda some days ago, raised a lot of doubt about their chances of getting a ticket for the prestigious tournament.
However, caretaker coach Maxwell Konadu’s team came in strong with a purpose and a strategy that won that day for the Stars.
Majid Waris, Mubarak Wakaso and stand-in captain Emmanuel Agyemang Badu got the goals for the Black Stars while Togo’s Jonathan Ayite pulled one back for his country.
