Ghana international and Chelsea man Baba Rahman has stood his grounds and is set for permanent exit from Chelsea before the European transfer window closes.

The former Augsburg man joined the Blues in 2015 for a deal worth 24 million pounds in total but has only played 24 times for the club.

Loan deals to Schalke twice and Reims in France have come in between a bad knee injury he suffered whiles playing for the Africa Cup of Nations for his country Ghana.

Now fully recovered and fresh from participating in the Africa Cup of Nations Rahman and his team have refused to bend in on Chelsea’s request to have the player sign another long term contract before going out on loan again this summer.

Rahman and his entourage are willing to drop the monumental wages he currently enjoys at Chelsea for a permanent transfer that will guarantee him enough playing time.

French side St Etienne and Olympic Marseille have made contact with the player but where put off by Chelsea’s valuation because the 24-year old still has two years left on his contract.

Chelsea have been holding on to the prospects of sending Baba on loan to Burnley this summer but the lack of guarantee of playing time put the deal on the ice with the player hoping to secure a club that will assure him at least 25 games for the seaon.

With the transfer window not closing till early September Rahman still trains with the loan team in Cobham but is very certain that his time as a Chelsea player is coming to an end soon.
