Ghana defender Daniel Opare has fully recovered from injury after spending six month on the sidelines with Belgian top-flight side Antwerp, Ghanasoccernet.com can exclusively reveal.

The talented right-back has fully recovered from a serious knee injury that sidelined him for six months.

Opare limped off during a pre-season friendly against Brasschaat after colliding with an opponent and has undergone treatment to be able to play again.

The 28-year-old underwent operation and he is now available to play competitive matches for the club.

Opare has resumed training with his team-mates and head coach Laszlo Boloni has decided to include him in his squad mid-season training.

The Ghana international made 23 appearances for the club last season.

The 28-year-old has just six months left on his contract at Antwerp and Norwich City are interested in signing the right back along with Aston Villa according to The Sun.

The experienced right-back, who made 23 appearances last season helping the Belgian side to a Europa League spot, could be available at £500,000.

Opare joined Antwerp from German side Augsburg on a two-year deal in 2018 and has previously had spells at Porto and Real Madrid B.

Opare left Augsburg under a cloud in 2018 when he was told to leave the club for being "dishonest" and having "shown no loyalty to the club's values" amid transfer talks with Schalke.
