Ghana football will collapse in future-Tony Yeboah

Tony Yeboah has indicated that the Ghana Football Association (GFA) is not keen to football development in Ghana, making the future of football in the country bleak.

The GFA is seen by some people as Black Stars centred to the detriment of youth football development in Ghana and Tony Yeboah has added his voice to that assertion.

“If care is not taken Ghana football would die in the near future, because there is no transitional plan in place by the GFA, so if the current players phase out their replacement will be difficult,” he told Atinka FM.

“Colts football is what unearthed players like me, Abedi Pele, Sammy Kuffour, etc and at the end the people leading football are not paying attention to it.

“Meanwhile Ghana get money from Black Stars participation in the FIFA World Cup, but at end such monies are shared among themselves.”

Tony Yeboah was the first African player to win the top scorer award in the Bundesliga and was also part of the Black Stars team that won silver in the 1992 African Cup of Nations staged in Senegal.
