Ghana international Joseph Paintsil has disclosed that his strong mentality makes him very confident when taking penalties.
This he insists has helped him to be successful from 12 yards on many occasions in his career.
Speaking in a post-match interview after scoring a penalty to help LA Galaxy beat San Jose Earthquakes over the weekend, Joseph Paintsil said he will always be confident when taking penalties.
“I’m always comfortable (taking penalties) because this is not something new for me. I’m always confident, especially in a penalty shootout. I’m someone who never loses hope especially if I lose a penalty, I will just keep going because I’m really mentally strong when it comes to penalty kicks,” the Black Stars winger said.
Since signing for LA Galaxy, Joseph Paintsil has been unstoppable. He is currently a key player for the side in the Major League season.
Joseph Paintsil, 26, has so far scored four goals and provided four assists after making nine league appearances for his team.
