Ghana goalkeeper Daniel Agyei is optimistic about a possible return to the Black Stars team.

The 2009 FIFA U20 World Cup winner was overlooked by Black Stars Coach Kwesi Appiah despite impressing in the Tanzanian Premier League.

The 26-year-old was excluded from the 30-man squad named by the Ghanaian tactician for this month’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Ethiopia.

Agyei is not disappointed to have been left out of the team.

“I believe they know what I’m doing here in Tanzania and they know what I’m capable of doing in the national team and so i respect their decision,” he told Happy FM.

“Anybody who is called into the national team deserves it because all the players are doing well in their clubs. I respect that decision and Ghanaians should do too,”

“I believe in future they will look at what I’m doing here in Tanzania and hand me a call up and so when I’m called into the Black Stars I will gladly make my services available but for now i respect their decisions. “

The former Liberty Professionals and Medeama goalkeeper have been nominated for the best foreign goalkeeper in the Tanzanian Premier League.
