A survey by the International Federation of Professional Footballers (FIFPro) said the entire population of Ghana’s home-based footballers earn less than $1000 a month as salary.

In the survey, carried out by the University of Manchester, 41 percent of the 13,876 players who responded had been forced to wait for their salaries over the past two seasons or more.

Morocco is the best-paid African nation when it comesto earning over $1,000 a month but players in the North African country are the most insecure on the continent about their future.

Over 12 countries participated in the survey on the continent which included; Botswana, Cameroon, DR Congo, Egypt, Gabon, Ivory Coast, Kenya, Morocco, Namibia, South Africa, Tunisia and Zimbabwe.
