Ghana’s Black Bombers have left for Yaounde

The National Amateur Boxing team, the Black Bombers departed Accra for Yaounde on Wednesday, March 9, to participate in the African Olympic qualifiers

The Amateur International Boxing Association (AIBA) African Olympic Qualification Event is scheduled to take place in Cameroon’s capital city of Yaoundé between 11-19 March, 2016 with 30 men and 6 women battling for a place in the global event with 39 other countries registering for the event.

The Black Bombers left the shores of Ghana with a 15-man contingent containing nine-man boxers together with six officials who boarded the Air Burkina flight as a transit flight to Yaounde, Cameroon.

In an interview with sportscrusader.com the Public Relations Officer of Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA), Naa Darkwaa Doodo said “the Ministry of Youth and Sports has finalized all arrangements with the team for their successful departure and we now ask Ghanaians to pray for the team so that they can all qualify for the games in Rio”.
