Ghanaian sprinter Joseph Paul Amoah will not be participating in the 200m event at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.
According to a report by George Addo Jnr., Amoah did not qualify for the individual event, finishing 62nd in the quota ranking for the Olympics.
With Joseph Paul Amoah absent, Rasheed Saminu is the only Ghanaian athlete set to compete in the 200m event at the Olympics. Rasheed will also be participating in the 100m event after securing qualification by finishing 54th.
Rasheed will be joined by Benjamin Azamati as the two representatives for Ghana in the 100m dash.
Despite not qualifying for the 200m event, Paul Amoah will still be present at the Olympics and will be competing in the 4x100m relay after anchoring the team to qualify in the Bahamas Relays.
The 2024 Olympic Games are set to commence on Friday, July 26, 2024.
