Ghana’s Nuhu must sweat for Anorthosis

The new chairman of Anorthosis Famagusta FC Charalambous Manolis is hopeful that newly signed players including Ghanaian left-back Razak Nuhu will die for the club.

The club endured one of the worst spells in their history last season, particularly in the second half of the campaign when they went on a barren run of games in which they also suffered an 8-1 reverse against Apoel.

After missing out on Europe for the first time in almost a decade, Anorthosis are currently in the process of revamping the squad and the infrastructure of the club.

Speaking about the club’s transfer activity in which seven key players were released, Manolis said he was hopeful the new signings would prove to be positive acquisitions.

“We want players like Nuhu that will sweat for their jersey and who will battle for the symbol of the club. Our aim for the upcoming season is to win every game,” he told PN.

“We are still looking to sign another four players and maybe even five or six if we can. With regards to Garcia, we are waiting for parent club Maccabi Tel-Aviv to inform of us of their demands.”

Some of the new players include Georgian duo Irakli Maisuradze and Giorgi Aburjania, Manchester City reserves defender Razak Nuhu and Spanish defender Albert Serran.
