Ghana’s Odjer suffers debut defeat

Former Tema Youth midfielder Moses Odjer played the entire duration for Catania in their 1-0 defeat to Ternana at the Stadio Libero Liberati in the Italian Serie B.

The 18-year-old was handed his first game by head coach Guiseppe Sannino and the U-20 bronze medalist showed what he is made of throughout the game. He started from the left back position before Sannino shifted him into the middle in the second half but all his efforts to score proved fruitless.

Uruguayan youngster F. Avenatti broke the game's bareness one minute to the hour mark with a sublime finish but Catania could not pull even despite several decent chances and they suffered their seventh defeat in the season.

Catania lie 13th on the log with 19 points, five points clear of relegation scare. The youngster after training with Catania joined them in August on a five-year deal.
