Ghana’s Sarpong to undergo shoulder surgery

Nac Breda Ghanaian midfielder Jeffrey Sarpong is to go through a shoulder operation which will keep him out of action for four months, Goal Ghana can exclusively reveal.

The former Ajax youngster is yet to play for his club after sustaining a shoulder injury during the 2-0 defeat to PSV on February 3 and doctors have recommended a major surgery to correct the shoulder.

The midfielder has agreed in consultation with the Nac Breda technical team to wait after the season before he will go under the knife, Goal understands.

Sarpong, who has featured for the Dutch Under-17, is yet to get a Black Stars call-up though he switched allegiance to play for Ghana in 2009.
