‘Ghana's U17 team look complete’ - Bwalya

Former Zambia Football Federation president Kalusha Bwalya has heaped praise on Ghana's team following their 4-0 victory over Cameroon at the 2017 Africa U-17 Cup of Nations in Gabon on Sunday.

A brace each from Ibrahim Sulley and captain Eric Ayiah gave the Black Starlets a perfect start to the competition. Another win will hand them qualification for the Fifa U17 World Cup with a game to spare.

"Ghana will go far in this tournament," Bwalya posted on Twitter.

"They looked very complete. Early days but fantastic football exhibited," he added.

Former Ghana international Samuel Opoku Nti, who doubles as the vice chairman of the Black Starlets management committee, has advised the players against complacency ahead of their next game against Gabon on Wednesday.

"I was sitting close to Kalusha and I understand why he was so happy with Ghana. We've been away from this tournament for some time and the competition lacked such wonderful teamwork," Nti told Goal.

"But I have advised the players not to be complacent since it can push us in a tight corner. We need to qualify within our first two games so that our players who wouldn't be part of the two games will be able to play in the last game before the semi-finals.

"I'm not much interested in winning the trophy, although we will be happy to lift it if the opportunity avails itself but I want to see the players well developed for the future. The Black Stars need quality players so that is my target," he added.

Ghana face Guinea in the last group game on May 20.
