Ghanaian para athlete Zinabu Issah has progressed to the final in the Women’s Discus Throw F57 at the ongoing Paralympic Games tournament.

Zinabu threw a distance of 24.39 meters to book a place for Ghana in the final in the Women’s Discus Throw F57 in Paris.

She came third after competing against six athletes. In first place was Brazil’s J. da Silva, followed by E. Vetokhina of Russia and A.M. Fokoa of Cameroon.

She had to compete in the qualification event because she attended only two qualifications in Marrakech 2024 and Paris 2024 WPA qualification events.

Zinabu will join 11 other athletes for the medal competition at the Women’s F57 Discus Throwing Finals at the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games.

Zinabu Issah will compete in the final on Saturday, August 31, 2024, at 19:00 GMT.

Zinabu Issah is the record holder for Ghana at the World Para Athletics Grand Prix, where she won gold for the country in April 2024.
