Ghana striker Kwesi Appiah features as AFC Wimbledon lose to MK Dons

Ghana striker Kwesi Appiah was in action for AFC Wimbledon as they suffered a 2-1 defeat to Milton Keynes Dons in the English Football League One on Saturday.

The 29-year-old put up an impressive performance for the Wombles however, they couldn't pick up the maximum points against their better rivals at the Stadium MK in their matchday seven fixture.

MK Dons took the lead through Sam Nombe in the 10th minute of the game.

Rhys Healey doubled the home side's lead with a strike from the edge of the box.

Marcus Forss scored the consolation goal for Wimbledon in the 83rd minute as MK Dons held on to secure all three points.

Appiah was replaced in the 78th minute of the game by Marcus Forss.

The Ghanaian has made seven appearances and scored two goals for AFC Wimbledon so far this season.

The defeat left AFC Wimbledon on the 21st position of the league table with only two points from seven games played so far in the 2019/20 season.

AFC Wimbledon will host Shrewsbury Town FC in their next league fixture.
