Ropapa Mensah bagged an historic first goal for Nashville SC on his debut and was named Fans’ Man of the match in his side’s 3-1 loss to Atlanta United in a preseason friendly.
The Ghanaian international came off the bench at halftime and scored the first goal for Nashville SC in the 64th minute on Saturday at First Tennessee State Park.
Ropapa Mensah will go down in history as the man who scored the first ever goal for the MLS franchise team.
The striker crowned the day with the Fans’ match of the man accolade after a short poll was ran on Nashville’s twitter page.
He won 79% of the total votes cast with 455 fans participating.
The former Inter Allies skipper joined Nashville SC for the upcoming USL season after having a successful loan spell with Penn FC (formerly Harrisburg City Islanders).
