Ghana to bid for 2019 All Africa Games

Ghana is likely to bid for the hosting of the 2019 All Africa Games, as part of long term strategies to boost the development of sports in the country.

Information gathered by the Sports Crusader.com reveals that, the Ministry of Youth and Sports (MOYS) is in the process of putting a team together to make a case for Ghana for the 2019 event.

The move, according to the information, was to afford other sporting disciplines the opportunity to develop since the country will be compelled to develop all facilities to enable them host the event.

Reliable sources, indicate that, the event, which will come immediately after the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations, is expected to be a nation-wide programme contrary to other All Africa Games, which were centered in one region.

Ghana was originally scheduled to host the 2015 edition but failed to submit a bid to issues with affiliation fees, hence the decision to award the event to Congo.

Ghana is confident of winning the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations, to help boost the state of infrastructure.

The 2017 Afcon is expected to set the path for Ghana to make a successful bid for the continental sports festival.
