The Black Rockets will face Nigeria on December 9 The Black Rockets will face Nigeria on December 9

International Federation of Skate Soccer (IFSS) an NGO committed to the development of the physically challenged members of our society (particularly polio victims) through sports is organizing an international Skate Soccer return match between Ghana and Nigeria in collaboration with BINATONE (the first choice in household electrical and electronic appliances) as the TITLE SPONSOR.

Previous events

The first official match was between the Accra Giants and the Ashanti Warriors at the La Pleasure Beach in January this year, that saw the Ashanti Warriors beat the Accra Giants to pick up the trophy. The second was the first international friendly match between Ghana’s Rolling Rockets and the Kano Pillars of Nigeria. The Rolling Rockets of Ghana won by 3 goals to 2 and the second international friendly match between Ghana and Togo ALSO Saw Ghana take the Cup as the winner.

These games showed to the world the potential of the players and Skate Soccer as a sport. It had an international coverage and featured on an international news network (CNN) as an item on their acclaimed program “Inside Africa”.

Upcoming event at the Lagos Stadium on 9th December

The upcoming international match is a return match between the Rolling Rockets of Ghana and Nigeria’s Kano Pillars at the Lagos State Stadium. This game promises to be exciting and highly charged. It will further display to the public, viewers and supporters the thrill the game brings as these physically challenged players demonstrate their incredible skills, talents and dexterity using homemade skateboards on the field.
Objective

Our ultimate goal is to support these physically challenged individuals to play the Skate Soccer to the highest level, in fact to reach the Para Olympics. We are not just stopping here, as part of our future plans, IFSS will institute a Global Polio Fund to cater for these Polio victims in Africa and other parts of the world. We take this opportunity to call on Corporate Sponsors to partner IFSS in this venture as social responsibility.

Through this Skate soccer gala, majority of these survivors of polio may discover their God-given talents and will have a chance to be very focused in their lives. We envisage that there would be a time when they would not be seen skating on the streets begging but have their own businesses and practicing their various vocations.

Skate Soccer has come to stay through the collaboration of International Federation of Skate Soccer (IFSS) and Binatone.

International Federation of Skate Soccer (IFSS) was co-founded in 2017 by Mr. Sunil Lalvani (Group Managing Director of Binatone) and Mr. Albert Frimpong. Mr Sunil Lalvani operates as President of IFSS and Mr. Albert Frimpong as the CEO.

Binatone was founded in 1958 in the UK and begun the operations in Africa in 1974.

We wish both the Ghana and Nigeria teams the best of luck.
