Accra, June 24, GNA - Ghana's national Baseball and Softball
team will participate in the first ever Economic Community of West
Africa States (ECOWAS) Little League competition in
Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso. The competition fixed for June 27-30, this year will involve six
nations drawn from the sub-region. The competition, which was originally fixed for June 11-14th had
to be rescheduled due to financial difficulties as well as the need to
afford participants much time to prepare for the event. Rev. Albert Seth Ocran, Chairman of GHABSA who disclosed
this at a press conference in Accra on Tuesday said, Team Ghana
has for the past weeks been engaged in serious preparations for the
event and expressed the hope that the nation will excel at the
competition. He said even though the Association has not been able to secure
funds for residential camping, the on-going preparations of the team
will be enough for them to win laurels for Ghana. Rev. Ocran said the team will need the support of the corporate
bodies to participate in the event and therefore appealed to
companies and organisations to support the Team Ghana to ensure
their success.
